Room for everyone, and somewhere for everyone to go
Northlake Summit sits on a wooded lot in the Northlake community, secluded enough to feel like you have the mountain to yourself and close enough that you can walk to the grocery store. Deep Creek Lake is three minutes down the road. Wisp is one mile away.
The main floor opens up under a cathedral ceiling, a stone gas fireplace, a long leather sectional, and windows that run the full height of the A-frame. It is the room everybody ends up in.
Downstairs is the reason parents book this house twice. A game room with an arcade cabinet, foosball and air hockey, and a separate movie room with its own woodstove, so the kids can be loud in one place while the adults are somewhere else.
Outside there is a hot tub, a Finnish barrel sauna, a covered porch with a fire table and a TV, a deck with the grill and the dining table, and a fire pit for the s'mores. Guests come back for the sauna more than anything else.

Exactly what we needed to reset
We had an absolutely wonderful stay over the Fourth of July weekend! The home was beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. The themed kids' room was a huge hit, and the game room kept everyone entertained. Our entire group commented on how incredibly comfortable the beds were — we all slept so well! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and the fresh towels and overall cleanliness made us feel right at home. We especially enjoyed the sauna, hot tub, and evenings around the fire pit. After coming directly from a pretty chaotic beach vacation where not much went right, this home was exactly what we needed to reset. It was peaceful, relaxing, and gave us the chance to truly unwind and enjoy time together. Thank you to our thoughtful and helpful hosts for sharing such a wonderful place! We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!
Minutes from the slopes
We had a great three-night stay at this house in Deep Creek over Presidents' Day weekend. The location was awesome, just minutes to Wisp Resort for skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing, and seconds to the grocery store (super convenient). Being close to the beverage store and local breweries was a nice bonus too. We traveled with two families, and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. The air hockey table was a huge hit with the kids, and the hot tub was perfect after a long day on the slopes. One small thing I really appreciated was all the extra throw blankets in the living room(s), it made the place feel extra cozy. The hosts were very helpful and quick to respond if we had any questions, but everything was smooth and easy throughout our stay. Overall, we had an excellent stay. We'd definitely come back and highly recommend this place.
Superstar hosts
We absolutely loved our stay at Northlake Summit! Ben and Carrie were superstar hosts and made sure that everything was perfect for our stay. Our kids loved the downstairs game room and it was perfect to have a separate space for them to play while the adults hung out upstairs.
Already planning the next one
I booked this for my husband and his friends to have a "boys" weekend away. They had a wonderful stay and are already talking about planning times to go back. The hosts were incredibly communicative leading up to and during the trip and made sure everything was clear and ready to go by the time they got there. We will definitely be booking again! Highly recommend to anyone on the fence about booking!
A wonderful spring break week
My family and my sister's family had a wonderful spring break week here. The house was exactly as described, very clean and well maintained, lots of games and activities for the kids. The hot tub, sauna and fire pit were a wonderful bonus! Location can't be beat with walking distance to stores and activities. I would highly recommend staying here!
Perfect golf getaway
My friends and I came down for our annual Ryder Cup golf weekend. We spent 3 nights in the house and played 4 rounds of golf at the local courses: Lodestone, Thousand Acres, Oakland, and Fantasy Valley. The house was the perfect hang out after our rounds. We'll be back!
Exactly as described
Benjamin was an amazing host from start to finish! The house was exactly as described: clean, comfortable, and in a fantastic location. We loved that it was within walking distance of great coffee shops, local stores, and grocery stores, which made our stay so convenient. We had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed every minute. I would absolutely recommend staying here and would gladly book again. Thanks again, Benjamin, for a great experience!
Perfect for a large group
We just stayed for the weekend as a large group and found it to be pretty spacious. Benjamin was great and responded quickly with a positive attitude and was always flexible and friendly! The house was clean and in the perfect area if you're planning to go to Wisp, near a grocery store — literally walking distance in our opinion. It matched the description and pictures and we couldn't have found a more perfect home. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!
Perfect summer week at the lake
Our family had such an amazing time here over a week this past summer. We rented a pontoon boat and our kids swam, fished, and tubed. The kids wanted to make s'mores in the fire pit every night and had fun playing in the hot tub too. 10/10 will be back next summer!
Close to everything, still quiet
Beautiful house with plenty of room for a large group. Closely located to many attractions in the area, but also secluded and peaceful. I would absolutely stay here again.
Private, but close to it all
Great space with great amenities! Super close to everything there is to do in the area, but still a private place. Highly recommend :)
Better than a spa
Having our own barrel sauna and hot tub was literally perfect for our relaxing girls weekend away. We loved spending time relaxing at the house. Everything was clean and comfortable. Carrie was extremely helpful with the entire process and is an outstanding host.
Great amenities
Amazing place with great amenities, and close to the creek and other amazing restaurants.
Perfect location
Everything was new and clean. This home was also so conveniently located to Wisp Ski resort (1 min drive) and the local shopping plaza. We loved coming home from skiing and hanging out in front of the fireplace. We will definitely be back again next year.
Book direct
Same house. Fewer middlemen.
No platform fee
Booking sites add a guest service fee on top of the nightly rate. Go direct and that line does not exist.
You talk to the owners
Ben and Carrie answer their own phone. Questions about the sauna, the roads in winter, or a late check-out get a real answer.
Off-peak rates
Midweek and shoulder-season nights are priced by the owners, not by an algorithm. It is worth asking.
There is no off season here.
Just a different reason to come.
Winter
Wisp is a mile away. Ski all day, then the hot tub, then the sauna, then the fireplace.
Spring
Whitewater season on the Yough and the Savage, and the trout are in Bear Creek.
Summer
Pontoon on the lake, the state park beach, and s'mores at the fire pit every night.
Fall
Four golf courses inside half an hour, and Autumn Glory in Oakland down the road.
Location
Secluded, but you can walk to the store

Your hosts
Ben & Carrie
Our family's love of adventure and the outdoors led us to Deep Creek Lake. We love coming to the lake and making memories with family and friends at all of the amazing and diverse adventures that the area has to offer. After purchasing a second home here, we wanted to share the home and experience with others, and turned it into a part time vacation rental.
There is such a wonderful feeling hearing from our guests about the memories they made while staying at our home. We set this vacation rental up to make every family's dream of a peaceful, relaxing, adventurous vacation possible. We've worked hard to leave no stone unturned and cover every detail so that you can get away from it all and relax worry-free. If there's anything we can do to improve your stay, please let us know!
Before you ask
The questions people email us
Answered here so you do not have to send a message and wait. If yours is not on the list, Ben and Carrie answer their own phone.
- Check in4:00 PM
- Check out10:00 AM
- Minimum2 nights
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check in from 4:00 PM and check out by 10:00 AM. If your travel makes that awkward, ask. Ben and Carrie sort it out themselves rather than sending you to a policy page.
What does the price include?
The nightly rate, plus cleaning and Maryland lodging tax. What you do not pay is the booking-platform service fee, which is the cut a listing site adds on top of the owner's price. Booking here removes it. Ask about off-peak rates for midweek and shoulder-season nights.
How many people does it really sleep?
Thirteen, across four bedrooms and nine beds. A king with an en suite bath on the main floor, a king and a queen upstairs sharing a bath, and a bunk room downstairs with four twins and its own bathroom. There are sofa beds in the main-floor bedroom and the living room.
Are pets allowed?
No, the house is pet-free.
Where do we park?
On site and free. The drive holds several cars, and there is a large open lot beside the house.
Is the hot tub cleaned between stays?
Yes, professionally, between every single guest. The barrel sauna is a four-person Finnish cedar sauna and it is ready whenever you are.
Do we need to bring firewood?
No. The grill is a Weber and the propane is provided. Firewood for the fire pit is sold at the Shop 'n Save at the end of the street, about a minute away.
Is there Wi-Fi if someone has to work?
Yes, and there is a dedicated workspace. There are five smart TVs through the house, and the lower level has a 70-inch with surround sound. There is also a treadmill in the basement.
How close is everything, really?
Deep Creek Lake is a ten minute walk. Wisp is a mile. The grocery store, coffee, ice cream, Funland and breakfast are all walkable, which is unusual for this area and the reason people stop moving the car once they arrive.
Anything we should know about the area?
There are black bears in Garrett County, so trash never goes outside, even overnight. The house sits on a wooded acre at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac.
When do we get the address?
With your booking confirmation. It is deliberately not published here.
